Waste to wealth

Waste to wealth

Our modern life creates so much waste!!! At least some of these waste are being treated to create  products that can be used elsewhere. Take for example, the ordinary municipal sludge, which is converted in to wealth by N-viro international corporation. Their patented N-viro process takes in the waste water sludge which is added with an alkaline admixture (consisting of cement and lime kiln dust, by products of coal, coke or petroleum combustion) to yield N-viro soil. This product can be used as top soil blend or land fill cover material. A waste gets stabilized, deodorized and pasteurised into a material which in turn covers up our land fills. That seems to be a virtuous cycle. But the physical actual process does result in  dust pollution at some stages. See the video below to learn more. Their Daytona, Florida lime sterilization facility actually converted a subsidized operation into a revenue generation for the community.

N-Viro fuel, its new technology has created a new opportunity fuel, which can be blended with coal to convert waste to energy.. The N-Viro fuel is created by blending organic waste with mineral by products and dried to get the fuel. This fuel is blended with coal or coke for use in coal fire plants. Such a biomass fuel blend has an added benefit of releasing ammonia which can be used for Nitrous oxides removal, which in turn also saves urea to be used for such removal. This fuel has already been  used in Michigan State University coal fired power plant with success. The resultant fuel mixture has proved to be a clean coal source. It is a renewable energy source in the sense it will be available as long as municipal waste is found. There are many more such alternative energy sources to be found.

Lets all shed our inertia and try to force our local communities to look for cleaner alternatives which will make our planet a better place to live in.
